Avery Gagliano, Piano
Grand Piano Series delighted a local audience of over 140 music lovers on Monday night with a virtuoso performance by violinist Vadim Gluzman and his pianist spouse, Angela Yoffe. Performing at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Bonita Springs, Gluzman and Yoffe varied program of Stravinsky, Bloch, Kancheli, and Ravel.
The artistry of this couple is so remarkable, one listener explained “The music was just
enchanting, with such depth and richness, and such tonal artistry of both the violin and
piano. At times it was like being carried away by birds singing and bells ringing.” Gluzman has been hailed as one of the best living violinists in Michael Molkhou’s respected book, and last Monday’s concert was evidence that this praise is well earned.
What’s next for Grand Piano Series? Another virtuoso performance of course! Avery
Gagliano, National Chopin Competition winner will perform a program featuring Mozart, Ades, and Chopin. If you have ever wanted to see a rising star before they achieved international acclaim, this may be your last chance with this young lady! Scheduled for February 15 at the St. Leo the Great Parish Life Center, this event is sure to
please even the most discerning music lover.
Managed by local resident and concert pianist Milana Strezeva, these performances
exemplify the Grand Piano Series’ commitment to present artists of the highest caliber
to local music lovers. We all recognize that COVID-19 realities have forced many arts
organizations into modified programs and major compromises, but this has not affected
the quality of the musical programs at Grand Piano Series. It does reduce audience
capacity, however, and Grand Piano Series maintains six foot seating separation and a
strict COVID-19 safety protocol as outlined on their website. This means a very limited
number of seats available (about 150 in a venue designed for over 800), so be sure to
get your tickets early by visiting www.grandpianoseries.org/buy-tickets
