GRAND PIANO SERIES RECEIVES GRANT FROM THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION FOR $1500

Naples, FL - (July 30, 2020) – Grand Piano Series is pleased to announce it has received a $1500 grant from the Community Foundation of Collier County. These funds provide needed support to our active concert and community outreach operations. Though our live concert program came to an abrupt halt in March 2020, we responded by implementing a diverse online program to maintain our connection to local students and reduce the isolation of seniors. To date, 690 residents have participated in our online concerts, informative lectures, student masterclasses, and interactive discussions with performing artists and arts personalities.

Grand Piano Series provides high caliber classical piano performances and a variety of educational programs to Collier County residents. Our mission is to preserve and present great piano literature as we enrich our community through concerts, informative lectures, and an active student and senior engagement programs. The Community Foundation of Collier County Grant and the ongoing support of many generous residents are vital to our continued service to our community.

“We are so grateful to the Community Foundation of Collier County for awarding us the first-ever grant in support of our program. This vote of confidence is especially important now as we negotiate the current challenges and dedicate our efforts to continued services in our wonderful community,” said Milana Strezeva, Grand Piano Series Artistic Director. "We appreciate this recognition and are inspired to do even more,” she concluded.

The Community Foundation of Collier County awards annual grants through a competitive application and review process. Selected organizations receive grant dollars from the Changing Needs Fund. This Fund is made up of donors who believe in the Community Foundation’s ability to identify and grant to the most community’s most current needs.

About Grand Piano Series

Initially established in 2016 as a piano concert series devoted to presenting the highest caliber performers featuring both familiar and rare piano compositions, Grand Piano Series quickly expanded to address a variety of demands in Collier County. For the concert audience, informative lectures precede many concerts and interactive discussions with the guest artist typically follow the performance. In addition, Milana Strezeva and guest artists conduct an active community outreach program that includes concerts and artist discussions at local schools, youth centers, and senior care facilities to expand community access to classical music. Our masterclasses with local piano students allow refining their skills through instruction from some of the world's finest performing pianists.

Our operations are continually evolving, and the COVID-19 shutdown led us to add an active online program of concerts and interactive discussions to maintain community engagement. Plans for the near future include lecture series to offer greater insight and nurture a deeper interest in classical music. Though live concerts are temporarily suspended, we are committed to continuing to advance our mission through innovative online programs. Everyone is encouraged to visit our website at www.grandpianoseries.org to review our current offerings. Join us for discussion, concerts, masterclasses, or other events! We are eager to resume live concerts as soon as it is safe and hope to announce our schedule soon.
