Music has been important to me throughout my life. I sang with my family and started piano lessons at
the age of 5. Later I enjoyed lessons on the clarinet as well as a church organ. I have experienced great
music and talented musicians in many wonderful venues where I lived. My husband and I moved to
Naples in 2013. My education includes a Master of Science in Industrial Relations from Loyola University
of Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Psychology from Southern Illinois University. I am a
graduate of the Greater Naples Leadership Masters Class XX.
My career as a Human Resource leader and organization development consultant was in global
manufacturing and biotechnology companies in Chicago, Miami, Silicon Valley, and Boston. I collaborated
with leaders and teams in R&D, Engineering, Business Development, Sales and Marketing, and Education
and Training. Our purpose was to establish and lead high-performing teams and meet the needs of
changing organizations. I managed a revenue-generating corporate training center for twenty-five
businesses and managed global leadership conferences and employee surveys that resulted in increased
employee satisfaction and productivity. I managed all HR functions in several Biotech companies.
As a Senior Vice-President on Executive teams, I participated in three IPO’s in venture-backed, biotech
companies. We developed and commercialized FDA-approved drugs treating cancer and renal disease.
I also worked with Board Committees in public and private companies and as a member of non-profit
Board Committees focused on Community Services and Board Governance. As an organization
development consultant, I supported executives and other leaders as they worked together to assess
and take action to achieve critical goals. We planned and implemented strategic changes, mergers,
acquisitions, and reductions-in-force. In retirement I have volunteered extensively as a mentor and coach
focused on career choice and career management skills with individuals at all stages in their careers.
